Today, we woke up for our last day on the Sea of Galilee. We spent the morning going to the places Jesus spent most of his ministry.
We started at Bethsaida where several of the disciples came from and where Jesus performed many miracles.
Then on to Capernaum. One of the gospels calls this town "Jesus home". We went to this home and read several stories from the Bible which happened at this sight. A first century synagogue is just 200 feet away from this house. This synagogue is another place where several stories in the bible happened.
Then on to the traditional, although not likely, site where Jesus did the miracle of the loaves and fishes. It has a beautiful 6th century mosaic on the floor that I love.
After that we went to the first century fishing boat that was found in the mud on the bank of the Sea of Galilee by some young men a few years ago.
We left the Galilee and headed south for a drive through the West Bank or Samaria. The Palestinian people I have met have been wonderful people. Our driver Elvis is Palestinian, he has become a good friend to me.
We ended the day by arriving at the Dead Sea where we will spend 2 nights. Tomorrow we will go down to the Dead Sea to float and put mud on our faces.
