Bet She'an is a tel (place where many cities have been built one on top of the other creating a hill with a flat top. Bet She'an is the place where King Saul and his 3 sons died in a battle. In the Bible you can read this story in the last chapter of 1 Samuel. You can read David's lament (poem of sadness) in 2 Samuel 1.
